Christmas, A Castle Roland Special Event Anthology:

A Castle Roland Holiday—2016

Synopsis:

This year we simplified things and announced at the Forums and a footnote on the story site for submissions for Christmas or Holiday stories. We really had no idea how many stories we would receive, since we didn't make as big a deal with it as we had in the past. Folks were watching, as we received six entries for this years collection.

Castle Roland 2015 Age of Enlightenment Contest

Complete

Synopsis:

Here in America, we celebrate the birth of our nation on July 4th. We wanted to do something to help in that celebration, but we quickly realized that we have a lot of people that are not Americans, that read our site and are members of our Community Forums. So we picked an era that symbolized Western Civilization, so as to be much more inclusive. We settled on the Age of Enlightenmment, a period that roughly encompasses from 1620 to 1800. We then challenged everyone to write a story, limited to 30K words and had to include at least one gay character. Out of the six stories received, we averaged all the members votes and three stories percolated to the top. Here now, are all the stories and we hope that you enjoy them as much as we did.
